Sonic the Hedgehog launched on Valentine’s Day of 2019, and even with the fact that many video game movies fall short, the film saw massive success. Adam Sandler was one of the individuals who enjoyed the picture, but for him, it was more than just a fun night out, as he communicated in a recent interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Sandler told Kimmel that his night started by going to a Los Angeles Lakers game. Instead of heading home, Sandler wanted to continue his evening out and decided to watch his good buddy Jim Carrey’s new film, the well-reviewed Sonic the Hedgehog.
Sandler loved the movie and thought Carrey was great in it, enough so that he called him to let him know. Carrey’s wide range of characters continues with Dr. Eggman in this new film. What Sandler didn’t know is that this Lakers and Sonic night would be his last night out before being quarantined.
Sandler seems to have a mind-meld with the general consensus for the Sonic movie, as the success has led to the director of the Sonic the Hedgehog movie wanting to work on a sequel. It’s likely that the triumph of the first movie will lead to more.
Sonic the Hedgehog is out now on DVD and Blu-Ray and can be rented on most digital platforms.
