The company seems to now be moving past at least some of its bevy of recent legal issues, as Activision seems to have been able to reach a settlement for its sexual harassment lawsuit. The US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission came to an agreement with the company regarding a settlement agreement of $18 million. Unfortunately, this settlement does not regard Activision’s other high-profile sexual harassment lawsuit, which was filed by California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing, as the department is yet to agree on a settlement figure.

It seems as though Activision is keen to move past these lawsuits and continue normal operations by investing a lot of its resources into the Call of Duty franchise. Just recently, Activision announced that it would be opening a new studio in Montreal for Beenox, a subsidiary company that has worked on various Call of Duty projects in the past. This time it seems as though the new studio will be at least partially dedicated to working on mobile projects for the company, such as the upcoming Call of Duty: Warzone mobile port.
Another rumor has also been doing the rounds regarding the company stating that Call of Duty may be creating its own subscription service. While it’s unknown if this move is related to that rumor, some fans are not pleased with the idea due to the yearly cost being rumored to be around $70. However, with tons of bundles and other microtransactions available, this figure is likely close to what many fans of the series spend on the game each year anyway.
Thankfully, it seems that Call of Duty: Warzone’s cheating problem will not be as much of an issue in the mobile version of the game. After having continuous issues with cheaters and its Ricochet anti-cheat system, the company was recently able to ban over 90,000 cheaters from the game. This system will likely be fine-tuned even further before reaching mobile as well.
The addition of a new Beenox studio will likely help with the company’s workload, as another rumor alleges that Activision is also planning on remastering some other older Call of Duty games. These remasters are allegedly set to come out in years when a mainline Call of Duty game will not release.
