For the most part, a lot of these tips are self explanatory. The article begins with a basic rundown of what Battle Royale is and how the Duos mode differs from the typical offerings of Call of Duty: Warzone, but then proceeds to share five specific tips.

Some of these tips may prove rather useful for newer or less hardened players, but veterans probably knew what to expect going in. Still, it is nice to see some effort coming from Activision, and even nicer to see Duos finally added to the game.

Activision’s five main tips begin with communication. Whether vocally or through the use of pings, Activision asserts that effective communication will be vital to winning in Duos, and its unlikely that many players would argue with this. Although Duos offers matchmaking, most will probably be playing the mode with close friends, making communication even more paramount. Next Activision advises players to take extra care with their loadouts, as only two players will have to fill all the necessary roles. In its own words, Activision says this “creates a potential meta shift,” and that new perks may come to the forefront.

The third tip Activision offers, which it titles Breach and Clear, is to work as a team to clear buildings of both items and enemies and how important it is to always stick together. It moves on to say that because of the nature of two man teams, there will be many scenarios in which a 2v1 is required (if a teammate dies, for example). Exercising patience and taking enemies down one at a time is Activision’s recommendation. Finally, it stresses with its final tip that individual skill is much more important in Duos, and players won’t be able to freeload off more talented teammates.

It will be interesting to see how fans react to this guide of sorts. All of these are no doubt good tips, but many of them are things that should be pretty obvious by now for anyone that’s been playing Call of Duty: Warzone for a while now.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
